Junior Blues in new UTV series

A new 5 part series is to be broadcast on UTV on Tuesdays at 7.30pm with effect from 18 January. The programme is called "Our special babies" and it focuses on the work of the neo-natal unit of Belfast's Royal Victoria Hospital.

Featured in the series will be Junior Blues member Chelsea Griffin from Bangor who benefited from the expert care provided by the unit when she was a very young baby.

Chelsea and her brother James were Linfield mascots at the League game at home to Limavady United on 27 November.

The series was previewed in a Belfast Telegraph article on Monday 17 January. In the article, parent Jim Griffin spoke openly and bravely about his family's experience.

Jim Griffin recently undertook a trek across the Sahara and he produced a cartoon front cover for the Junior Blues 2005 calendar. He also draws cartoons of every Linfield player who is a guest at the Junior Blues monthly meetings and these sketches are subsequently framed and presented to the players.

Earlier this season, the Junior Blues presented a £200 cheque to the neo-natal unit of the RVH from the proceeds of last season's sponsored event.
