Donation of 1961-62 shirt

Supporter John McDowell has kindly donated a 1961-62 Linfield shirt which has been framed and now hangs on the wall of the Clean Sweep lounge.

There is some debate as to whether the shirt was worn by John Parke or Ray Gough in the famous Seven Trophy winning Clean Sweep side of 1961-62.

The shirt is on display alongside modern shirts from the Clean Sweep team of 2006-7.

Linfield FC is very grateful to John McDowell for the excellent donation which serves to act as a constant and important reminder of the club's tremendous tradition and achievements.

With thanks to Superstore Manager Stephen Dickson who permitted the move of the shirt from the Superstore to the Clean Sweep lounge.
