The FAI paid for a coach load of young Drogheda supporters to travel to Windsor Park to see the Setanta Cup semi final. Linfield gave the group free admission to the game.
The FAI paid for refreshments and a group of 30 young Drogheda fans met up with a group of Junior Blues members in the Bass Lounge.
The 2 sets of young supporters went on the pitch before the game and exchanged IFA and FAI pennants. Thanks to the 2 governing bodies for providing the pennants. The young supporters then engaged in a Champions League style hand shake.
As the young Drogheda supporters were walked to their seats in the North Stand, the two sets of young supporters were warmly applauded by the Linfield fans in the South and Kop Stands.
A big thank you to the Junior Blues parents who got their children to the Bass Lounge especially those who had little or no notice of the event.
Involved on the evening were Mark Winstone, Travis McClurg, Andrew McCrea, Jonathan Doherty, Tylor Moore, Gareth Deane, Glenn Reid, Jordan Stewart, Corey Jamison, Andrew Martin, Luke Hill, Geral McCreey, David Moore, Natasha McQuade, Charlotte McQuade, Chantel Pomeroy, James and Chelsea Griffin, Curtis Martin, Kirsty and Louise Shortt, Adam and Rebecca Smyth, Conor Lamont, Daniel McCann, Gary and Ryan McKee, and David and Rachael Stewart.
