Sponsor day

Last Saturday the Junior Blues held their annual sponsor day on Midgely Park before the home game against Coleraine.

The weather was splendid and a good crowd of around 40 members turned out for the fun training session with Alfie Wylie.

There was also a good number of parents in attendance and a special thank you to Jeff Martin, Jim McMinn, Sammy McClurg and Geoff Stewart who helped Alfie keep things ticking along.

Alfie was superb keeping proceedings going for the best part of two hours and afterwards there was a free lunch in the Clean Sweep lounge for all participants.

Alfie is keen to run a similar event in the future and certainly if one can't be slotted in before the season end, then hopefully we can arrange something in say September.

A big well done to the following participants.

Youngest group - Aimee McMinn, Danika McLoughlin, Nathan Houston, Jasmine Kerr, Lucy Stewart, Ethan Patterson, Leah Moore, Adam White, Rachel Keaveney, Matthew Radcliffe, Rachel, Louise & Rebekah Kane and Hannah Stewart.

Older girls - Sacha Morrison, Natalie Watson, Keilie Kirk, Chantel Pomeroy, Louise and Kirsty Shortt, Chelsea Griffin, Amy Wright, Emma Stewart and Rachel Stewart.

Medium boys - Jordan Stewart, James Cousins, Andrew Martin, Alex MacDonald, Matthew McClelland, Matthew Wilson, James Griffin, Andrew McCrea and Adam Wright.

Bigger boys - Warren Stewart, Christopher Thompson, Matthew Sellar, Thomas and William McKee, David Stewart, Mark Winstone, Travis McClurg, Glenn Reid and Gareth Linton.

A big thank you to photographer Darren Thompson.

Several other people are deemed to be particpants as they have a sponsor form to return but couldn't take part on the day due to understandable Easter family committments.

Could those concerned please confirm this with Andy Conn at andyconn@linfieldfc.com

As a special reward for the participants in last week's sponsor day those named above will take part in mini soccer games on the Windsor Park pitch before next Saturday's home game against Glenavon.

The groups will remain as stated above, unless a mistake has been made in the reporting of the groups.

If for any reason, it does not suit you to take up this offer, please contact Andy Conn.

The planned bucket collection was abandoned as supporters arriving at the ground would have had to pay for tickets to several games at the Oval in the next few weeks and funds only go so far.
