Visit from Drogheda young people

On Monday April 2 Linfield will play host to a group of young people from Drogheda under the Setanta Sports Cup cross community exchange programme.

In the afternoon an intenary has been drawn up which will see the young people visit W5 and the City Hall.

The visitors will arrive at Windsor Park for a tour of the stadium and then sit down to a meal in the Clean Sweep lounge with around 40 Junior Blues members.

After the meal there will be several speeches and presentations and then the young people involved will take part in a Champions league style hand shake on the Windsor Park pitch prior to kick off.

We need 40 Junior Blues members who will defnitely be able to arrive in the Clean Sweep lounge at 5.30pm. Match tickets are not provided.

Should there be more than 40 wishing to take part a way will be found to reduce the amount taking part to around this figure.

It must be stressed that applying to take part does not guarantee involvement in the event as we expect there to be heavy demand for this event.

Should you wish to take part you must email or contact Andy Conn by 10pm on Thursday March 29. Andy should be emailed on the different email address of andrewconn@hotmail.co.uk as his other email address is presently experiencing technical difficulties.

With thanks to Jim McMinn, Jim Griffin, PSNI, W5, Belfast City Council, the IFA, Linfield Superstore, Umbro and Linfield FC for all their assistance in this matter.

The 40 persons involved will be named on this website by the weekend.

Please only apply if you are sure you can be there for 5.30pm on Monday April 2.
